Waiting

So Jenn and I are waiting for a call sometime this week to set something up with our case worker. We already have a couple of files in our hands. We have yet to review them as our weekend was fairly busy. It would be nice to have a child by the holidays but like everything else we have to play out the “waiting game.” In any case we are excited, and if we manage to get a child under five, Jenn and I have decided that I will quit my job and I will tutor out of the house.
I saw someone I can’t stand at work today, almost ruined my day, however when I say how ugly and bloated she looked a part of me felt better ( I know thats terrible). I am not like that, nor do I like people who are into being vien, but if you knew just how nasty this person was you too would enjoy the fact that she got uglier and fatter !
Jenn and I went to Amber and Kathy’s house on Saturday. We tasted this great dessert Amber made. Apple and cherry crumble, oh it was so good. We also went to midnight madness on Friday. I picked up some more Halloween odds and ends for the house at Bittersweet. We went to Country Treasures too. We grabbed some candles that smell like fall, a new crow table runner, and a wall light fixture. More and more I am liking the primitive stuff. We are thinking of making over the dining room. That’s a nice winter project, and something to look forward to. after redoing the kitchen and bathroom we are taking a break though with anything with the house. After we shopped we went to a movie, SAW 4. I spilled popcorn all over Jenn ( during the previews) !!! This movie continues to live up to the rest. Enjoyed by both ! Sunday we carved pumpkins with Temoc, Xochitl, and Emily. The best part of that was all the seeds. I live for pumpkin seeds this time of year, and I got plenty yesturday. A fun productive weekend was had. Now back to the grind, if you can call it that. I have tomorrow and Wednesday off.
Love to all who enter here.

life paying off

Do you ever get the feeling that the more you do day to day, everyday, at times feel like it is not paying off. Well Jenn and I were feeling like that and last week we got some great news that all of our hard work IS paying off. We met with our case worker, and we have one more home visit/interview, and two more classes to go to before we can look at fostering a child or two. The dream of one of us having a child has been let go. I would be a high risk pregnancy, and Jenn well she has never felt like going through all you have to go through to bring a child into this world. I also feel like there are so many children in this world that need a home and we have a good home to offer. We are not having really high hopes to have a child for the holidays, but it doesn’t hurt to have a little faith that everything will turn out the way we want it. So we will see…
Jenn and I had a great weekend. We stayed on Niagara on the lake. The B&B we stayed at was near a lot of shopping, I especially loved this little Irish import shop. I got Jenn a winter scarf, and myself the Celtic Women CD. Sunday after arriving home, Jenn and I took the boys and Lucy on a long walk on the canal, I sewed some toys up that have seen better days, we visited both sets of parents, and I used the grill probably for the last time. I went grilling crazy. I grilled portabellas, jalapenos, tomatoes, onion, a solid chunk of cheese, and beets. ( I boiled the beets first). Then I grilled some whole wheat italian bread. I made a huge sandwhich with everything but the beets, and the beets were cut up and splashed with lime, kosher salt, and cilantro. It was a tasty salad side. The rest of the night Jenn watched TV on and off and also did a word search. I did some journal writing, some coupon clipping, some foster care info reading. At the end of the night we came together on the sofa, snuggled and watched ” Little People Big World ” We love that show.
So far this week has been laid back, and nothing more to really report.
Love to all who enter here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I love birthdays, even if it is not my birthday that is being celebrated. Today is Temoc’s birthday and I am having a party for him. My good friend Amber will be over in a bit to help me get organized, and to cook. She has a real nack for cooking really good food. Kathy will be over later. And of course the master of ceremonies will arrive with his parents and sister Xochitl at 5:30.
Jenn will be picking up Joel from the airport and then the fun starts once everyone gets there. I got red wine so it will be really fun for me, and anyone else sho wants a glass. Its funny how I was a fish 12 years ago when I went out to the bars, now a glass of wine gets me happy and feeling good. Thats it one glass !!
I had a staff meeting today, those are always a waste of my time, but I can’t complain I was out the door at 11am and tomorrow is an easy day I am taking the person I advocate for, out for the day, and then heading home to clean up. I will probably clean tonight as those of you that know me will know that as soon as everyone leaves tonight I will have a very strong urge to clean, and will.
Well So far work and getting some things ready for tonights festivities is all I have to report. I know I keep writing this but soon I will download pictures of Lucy, family and day to day memories Jenn and I have made and kept with a picture. We plan on taking pictures tonight too.

Peace and love all who enter here.
