A list of things to do

Posted by elizabethgomez on October 15, 2008

We all have them that list of things to do,do we ever do what is on this list ? Well if you are like me you may do everything when it is a crunch time and it REALLY needs to get done or you may be like I was today and say screw it, don’t I do enough. How about I spend my day off doing my nails, reading a book, walking my dog, or talking to a friend for an hour who I haven’t talked to in over two weeks.

Today I had a list. I love lists and my life for the most part is filled with list. There is the wish list, grocery list, things to get done outside list, things to do on the weekend, bills to pay, appointments to make, things to buy and so and so on. What the hell got me started on lists I am not sure. For as long as I can remember since before puberty I have been writing up list, well today I said screw the list. And while it may seem it was an easy thing for me to do it wasn’t, but I did it and it was all okay.

Today I had the day off and so instead of visiting my aunt which I have been doing at least twice a week for the last two in a half months ( and I am not really sure if she appreciates it ) I called a close friend who I have not talked to in two weeks and we actually made plans for halloween. Instead of getting the yardwork finished I gave myself a facial, and painted my nails. Instead of cleaning out the fridge and getting some extra cleaning done inside the house I took Lucy to North Hampton for an hour long hike/ power walk. Then after arriving home from that I had lunch and started to read a book I bought over the weekend ” You The Owners Manual ”

Could I have done everything on my list ? Sure, and then some? I probably could have written another list of things to do tomorrow. But what I got done today made me happy, Maybe it wasn’t on my list of things to do but oh well. aAccording to the book I am reading maybe I added a day or two to my life for making myself happy !

Overall life is great, well better than great. There is always tomorrow to work on my list.
