The Weekend

So the weekend is here. I never feel like the weekend is here until I get all of my usual Friday cleaning done. A clean house is a happy person living there. I am done with all that and the weekend is here.

Not much is planned and so that is a good thing. What I can say is that it is freezing so what we do will be indoors. For tonight Jenn is over at Ed’s and will not be back until 6pm, then of course we need to have dinner and then we were thinking of going to the movies. I want to watch the new Eastwood movie. A friend went to see it and said it was a great movie.

The rest of the weekend will be pretty laid back. My kind of weekend.

Not a year goes by

Around this time of year I get a little blue. Maybe its the cold, lack of sun, or or both. what ever it is there has not been a year that has gone by that I do not get depressed. Somedays are better then others. Today is not one of those days, and while I write this I have my sun lamp on me, I hope this will help me. It sometimes does the trick. I also am taking vitamin D. 1000 units a day. I started doing this after watching Oprah. So far I do feel a bit better, not enough to say its a miracle. I think I should make a more thorough comment after being on ot for at least a month.

The weather will be getting colder. Lucky if we get out of the single digits with windchills below zero. More snow to come too, and it sucks, both are my least favorite thing.

I think later I will curl up with a good book, make a nice dinner and spend time with the dogs. Tom and Lucy can get anyone out of a rut.

Still simplifying … Part Dos

So over the weekend Jen and I went through more closets, more dressers, more cupboards and so you get the picture. To date we have donated about eight huge bags of items, plus thrown out about the same number of bags. It feels good to give. It also feels good to make everything seem clean, fresh, and you guessed it simple.

While it takes some getting used too, I like the way the house feels, and looks. Its lighter. I feel lighter too. I can not explain why but I do.

I was also able to journal this weekend, I went to see my friend Jen who is in town for the next two weeks, seeing her was a great start to the weekend. That was Friday. On Saturday after we worked on the house and weeding “things” out Jen and I went to visit amber and Cathy. When we got home we snuggled in bed and cuaght the tale end of the movie “What dreams may come.” I love that movie. Sunday was spent catching up and talking to my sister’s, also did a bit of shopping, and then read most of te late afternoon into the early dinner. It was nice. Jen and I also watched some planet earth shows that we DVR’d . I love those shows even if they are a bit sick sometimes. It has been a very nice weekend,…. but I still day dream of someplace warm.
