“ME” on my to do list

So Last night I was watching Oprah. I love her show. Always have and always will. Her shows the last two days have been about taking care of yourself, which we all want to do buut it’s really hard sometimes.

I had actually already decided in November that Jen and i had to stop taking our health for granted. We have a nice home, great families, good friends and beautiful pets what good is all that if you don’t have your health. YOU NEED YOUR HEALTH !!!

So in November I had a physical, along with bloodwork, an eye exam, and I also went to see my heart specialist. Despite me delaying it all until almost the end of the year, I did get everything taken care care. Jen waited even longer and went in December right before Christmas. everything with the both of us is fine.

I had a few scares this past year, one heart flutters, and two severe head and neck pain that sent me to the ER. My heart flutters are caused by my heart valve that struggles to evenly pump my blood, and the other scare still is a mystery. What I do know is after having some time off from work, and taking muscle relaxers for two weeks I was back in working order.

All in all I feel Jen and I are doing what we need to do to be happy and healthy for a long time to come. One thing we started to do is exercising together. Three days a week we do an hour of cardio, and one day a week 30 mins of weights. We enjoy going to the local college. Our membership was cheap, and the hours are great, open 8am to midnight. I like the bikes, and racket ball, Jen likes to walk, and racket ball. And while we tend to take a more holistic approach to our health ( vitamins, supplements, and otehr natural remedies) We know the key to overall good health is to keep moving and so we just move.

We all need to put ourselves in our to do list. As for me it is a must.

Peace and good health to all who enter here.

catching up

So I have not written here in awhile so I have a lot of catching up to do. After a very long wonderful vacation I returned back to work, and have been working for the last month non stop. Today is my first shorty day as I like to call them in awhile. the last couple of weeks since my return has been filled with my regular hours and training I needed to do. today however I just had to work 6am-10am. I have a lot to do at home, but felt this was equally as important to get done.

Jenn and I have been doing a lot around the house. We just got our bathroom remodeled and it looks great, although dealing with people in and out of our home was trying at times, but now the end relsults made it all worth it. We are getting our attic insulated next Friday so sometime in February we can get dry wall up and set up a nice room up there for reading, writing, and scrapbooking. It will give us extra living space, something you can never have enough of. Along with remodeling the bathroom we got a good deal on new kitchen counters, and a new kitchen sink. It is all coming along very well, and I can not wait to have an open house with friends and family.

I pulled a muscle about a month ago. It has been preventing me to sleep at night, or at least get a full nights sleep. I am going back to the doctor tomorrow maybe he will give me something a bit stronger for the pain.

Jenn and I are still tryiing to go whole foods/ organic. Now though it is much harder without my garden and the variety of organic produce. So we have managed with finding things in the frozen section of the grocery store. I lost 15 pounds this summer and Jenn lost 10. Its not hard at all for us to be active this time of year because we both love the fall. Getting yardwork done and walking is always more enjoyable to us in the fall. So keeping the weight off has taken no effort on either one of us.

My mom’s birthday is this weekend and we have something special up or sleeve for her, so that is keeping us smiling.

Jenn has been working two nights a week at Ed’s all in thanks to Joel giving her these hours. It is an extra tax free $$ every month and we already know what we are going to do with the money !!! Take a cruise !!!! , get the driveway done next spring, and add $$ to our IRA we opened up for our birthdays this past spring. To me that is most important, having peace of mind with financial security. I don’t mind not having the most expensive house now, or about buying new clothes all the time. I just want to know that if and when I need money it is there for Jenn and I. Plus last week Jenn and I went to the bank because everytime a bonus from work has rolled around we have made extra mortgage payments and have applied extra money to the principle every month. So we were curious to see how our efforts have been paying off; if we continue to do what we are doing ( which we will ), we will be done paying off the house by September 2018 !!! News we have been bursting to share with everyone, because that to us is a huge deal. Now lets hope I live to see it, and enjoy it.

Well I think this has caught us all up wth news and happenings in our lives. Love and peace all who enter here.
